Black Bear - Overview

In the year 2000, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game finally realized that, in the backcountry zones of central Idaho, bears and their prey were significantly out of balance. Recommendations to the F&G Commission and actions taken by them has led to longer seasons, 2 bears per hunter areas, and reduced tag prices for non-residents.

For many years WCOA has been a front runner in bear management in the Selway. Each year we have added to our basket of techniques to increase hunter success both in quantity and quality of trophies.

Unquestionably, the most enjoyable time of the year for us and our guides is the spring and we know what killing bears is all about.
